3D Models

Where imagination takes shape! We transform concepts into incredible three dimensional designs that bring your ideas to life. Our team of design engineers use 3D modelling and rendering software to create virtual models that are great for presentations, simulations and liaising with manufacturing suppliers. Whether you have a new idea to mock up, an existing part/assembly to remodel or an existing CAD model to make changes to, we can help.

What are 3D models?

3D CAD (Computer Aided Design) is a more advanced version of a 2D drawing. They provide more information about the model and are a great visualisation tool. These models are created in different ways depending on software but are generally based on a wireframe on a 2D Plane (surface). From these different points, lines and curves are added to build up the 3D model. Whilst the model is being created you can freely rotate the model and view from different views to aid the development of the model/product. The software also gives you critical information along the way such as material mass, volumes and allows you to measure other dimensions and input calculations and formulas to help create an accurate model. Once finished these 3D models can be tuned into 2D drawings, renders for better visuals and can be exported into multiple file formats to be sent to manufacturers for prototypes and production parts. This ensure everyone works of the master copy of the products geometry and can be loaded into certain machines. Due to how far 3D modelling has come along and the amount of benefits 3D CAD is now recognised as the standard across the industry and is a critical tool. These models have the added benefit of having design evaluation tools and check geometry for issues, highlight surfaces that are not smooth and run different simulations to build confidence the product is meeting requirements.
